Make the container as airtight as possible to keep the fumes in. Ammonia evaporates very quickly and ammonia is the only substance that will remove the excess bluing. Soak for 24 hours. If the stain is not gone in 24 hours, mix a fresh ammonia solution and repeat the process. Finally, wash the clothing on a regular wash cycle with detergent only.
Dec 19, 2009·Powder is washing soda. Liquid detergents have borax, usually with alcohol. End of story. My guess is that washing soda loses its poop over time in water and borax doesn’t. Borax is fine, but if you’re having trouble getting things CLEAN (which is not the same as WHITE), replacing borax with washing soda will make it more powerful.
1. WHAT IS POWDER COATING Powder coating is an advanced method of applying a decorative and protective finish to a wide range of materials and products that are used by both industries and consumers. The powder used for the process is a mixture of finely ground particles of pigment and resin, which is sprayed onto a surface to be coated.
The first soaps were manufactured in ancient times through a variety of methods, most commonly by boiling fats and ashes. Archeologists excavating sites in ancient Babylon have found evidence indicating that such soaps were used as far back as 2800 B.C. By the second century A.D., the Romans were regularly making soap, which they had probably begun to produce even earlier.
For cleaning, mix a solution of 1/2 cup of washing soda to 1 gallon of warm water. To unclog drains, pour 1 cup of washing soda into the clogged drain followed by 2 or 3 cups of boiling water. Allow the washing soda to work for 30 minutes and then flush the drain well with plain water. Repeat as needed.
Because powder does not have solvents, you need to make sure the washer does a good cleaning job. This is just good operational practice and is not an unusual requirement. Iron phosphate is the most frequently encountered pretreatment used with powder coatings.

There are two main ways to refinish powder-coated furniture--strip it and start over, or apply paint over the existing powder. If the original job was properly prepared, it will be difficult to remove a powder-coated finish. One coat of powder is roughly equivalent to three or four coats of paint.

We have a five-stage pretreatment system that uses an alkaline cleaner, rinse, iron phosphate and rinse, and then finishes with a seal rinse. We want to be able to take on any job, but we have had some failures with coating aluminum parts that are used for outdoor products.
So, to prevent powder spits, surges, and inconsistent powder feed, check your equipment, make sure the hoses themselves are not being restricted in any manner, do not go crazy with the fluidization and clean your equipment regularly.
